ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION FACILITIES

Access to clean water and sanitation campaign is to help campaign for the provision of good drinking water to about 100 rural communities in Ghana

Access to clean water supply and sanitation is a fundamental human need and rights. Water is vital for wellbeing and health, yet it is increasely threaten resource in world,especailly Africa. Improving access to clean water and sanitation and hygiene is a first step towards creating a physical environment that enhances human dignity and self-esteem.

Poor sanitation and hygeine cripples national development and inadequate as well as lack of acess to clean water and sanitation services cost Sub-Sahara Africa five percent of its Gross Domestic Products each year. It is against this background that African Media Aid/Global Media Foundation in pursuance of one of its objectives promoting access to clean water and sanitation has initiated this campaign: ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION FACILITIES. The five-year campaign is themed:Investing in Water and Sanitation in Rural Areas: A Wise Investment for Health, Dignity and Development

Campaign goals
  1. to advocate for the provision of clean water and sanitation facilities to at least 100 rural communties, schools and health centres in the Brong-Ahafo and Ashanti rgions of Ghana by 2015
  2. to create public awareness abouth the negative effectives of poor sanitation and unsafe water on society
  3. to help acheive the MGDs on water and sanitation
