Democracy Matters

As part of this campaign, with encouragement and support from others, I have started to form an alliance for learning effective citizenship and practical politics. Tony Breslin of the Citizenship Foundation suggested the name 'Democracy Matters'.

Power to the people

26 August 2009 74 people signed as a result of one email: if every one of them gets 35 more people to sign, it will be in the top 50, and if they get 35 people each it will be top of the list. One supporter has proposed that the Harigney Labour Party manifesto for local elections includes a commitment to set up a ‘democracy hub’. CDX and other organisations are posting the petition to their members and including it in their newsletter. Let me know what you are doing.
