Medsin's 'Global Health Education Project' (GHEP) has organised a conference to bring together leading students, academics and other professionals to share best practice, develop a national strategy and build a strong network for global health education.

The conference will be on Saturday 10th October 2009, from 09:30am to 5:30pm. It will be hosted at King's College London in the Henriette Raphael Function Room, Henriette Raphael House, Guy's Campus, London Bridge (for a map, see: http://www.kcl.ac.uk/about/campuses/guys.html).

In conjunction with this conference, we are developing a 'Global Health Education Toolkit' so summarise existing teaching and provide examples of good practice. We will be emailing delegates a draft of the Toolkit in advance of the conference, and hope to discuss its content during the day and consequently rewrite it. We therefore strongly request that delegates take the time to review the document before the conference so that a more structured debate can be held.

The conference is free to attend but registration is required. Lunch will also be provided.

SKIP will be meeting other relevant parties to encourage Global Health Education within Healthcare University courses. It will be presenting outlines for SSUs based on SKIP and ethical volunteering and inputting our experience of sustainable development and youth empowerment in the UK. If you would like to get involved in SKIP Proposals for Global Health Education, please get in touch. Danny and Fran (NC) will be present.
