The Glass Is Half Full

The purpose is to provide resources for those old and new to the subject of social change on a range of organising methods from 'anti oppressive organising' to 'transformative education' to 'building unexpected alliances for civil disobedience.

There is a lack of bases in the UK for people to find a wide range of deeper methods of transformation and empowerment. Whilst humanity is facing interconnected problems on a scale never seen before (climate change, poverty, war) we can be confident in the capacity for humans to tackle injustice. All is not lost it appears, without resistance, direct action and a little bit of disobedience the world would be a very different place. It is vital to see the common and interconnected themes amongst our efforts for social justice, be it anti-aviation expansion campaigning or to break the siege of Gaza.

For me the commonalities lie in compassion, in understanding where others come from, in seeing the worth in challenging the status quo and in delving deeper in militant strategies of resistance to realise that we have a rich history of options in striving for justice.

I strategise in human-ecology (The relationship between humans- community -ecology), civil disobedience with perserverance, humanity and humour to incite passionate action to confront critical issues. Civil disobedience being the active refusal to obey certain laws, demands and commands of a government or of an occupying international power.

Throughout TheGlassIsHalfFull there is particular focus on the planks of environmental/climate justice (2) popular and transformative education (3) creative direct action and civil disobedience Whilst humanity is facing interconnected problems on a scale never seen before (climate change, poverty, war) we can be confident in the capacity for humans to tackle injustice.

All is not lost it appears, without resistance, direct action and a little bit of disobedience the world would be a very different place. Women may not have the right to vote, we might be divided by our skin colour or the Nazi's may still be in power. We can believe in humanities rich tradition of tackling the inevitable.
