London Campaigning Roadshow report
Earlier this year, a number of regional events brought together over 600 people from voluntary and community sector organisations and infrastructure organisations to improve support for campaigning.
Each event was led by a regional steering group, assisted by Titus Alexander from Novas Scarman Group. LVSC worked in partnership with Titus Alexander, Advice UK, NCVO and others to coordinate the London Regional Roadshow. This event took place on 20th March 2009 at the London Resource Centre. It was chaired by Peter Lewis, LVSC’s new Chief Executive. There were six main priorities:
· Affordable campaign training
· Networking and sharing resources
· Signposting of training and other resources
· Case studies of successful campaigning
· Campaign website with tools
· And, a “Declaration of independence of the voluntary sector”
You may also want to know that a new campaigning guide has been published! "Campaigning is ok!" has been written by Titus Alexander, Novas Scarman group. The aim of the guide is to provide support for community action and advocacy.
A date for your diaries!
The guide will be launched at 5pm on Monday 13 July 2009 in the Grand Committee Room of the House of Commons. Watch this space....
