Animal Rights Campaigner & Activist

I am a professional animal rights and animal welfare campaigner, with specific experience and interest in farmed animals. I have experience working with a number of organisations on both national and local animal issues and hold a 'Certificate of Professional Practice in Campaigning' (through the NCVO and Roehampton University).

Why Animals?
There is so much injustice in the world that deserves awareness and change. So why animals?...
There is such extensive ignorance about the sentience and treatment of animals at the hand of man kind. Animal sentience (although scientific fact) is grossly underestimated by so many, dismissed as being 'over sentimental' or 'anthropomorphic'. The use of animals in industries is to the detriment of their lives, as their sentience is often over looked for profit. Confined and restrict, animals are deprived of their natural company, social interactions, environment and life. Many experience rough handing, abuse and painful and stressful deaths, all of which the business in the industries do not want the general public to know - so it can continue.

There are 60 billion (many times more than the world's human population) farmed animals killed ever year for humans to consume animal based foods. The majority of these animals will be raised in 'factory farms'. Their physical and mental health will suffer greatly, then they will suffer transport to and death at the slaughter house.

I find this unnatural, horrific and widespread suffering to be unacceptable.

The extreme exploitation, depravity and violence, the number of animals involved and the disregard people show to them is why I campaign for them.
