MAKE ANIMAL TESTING HISTORY

Create a virtual character to join the MAKE ANIMAL TESTING HISTORY VIRTUAL MARCH

Campaign managed by: Four Paws

The European law that regulates animal experiments, Directive 86/609/EEC, is being updated. Revision of the law offers a vital chance for real and lasting change for animals who currently receive inadequate protection. Most importantly, a targeted strategy to replace animal experiments with more advanced non-animal methods must be the ultimate goal. Join the Make Animal Testing History virtual march to show your support.

Campaign goals
  1. strategic direction to replace animals in research and testing through compulsory use of existing alternatives, and the creation of EU and national facilities dedicated to advancing additional non-animal methods;
  2. transparent systems of ethical evaluation and ethical review, application and authorisation, retrospective review and laboratory inspection reports;
  3. an immediate ban on the use of great apes and wild-caught primates in experiments, and the phasing out of all experiments on non-human primates in line with European Parliament Written Declaration 40/2007;
  4. regular reviews of animal protection rules, and public reporting on progress made towards reducing animal suffering and replacing animal methods.
