Glasgow Schools Closure Campaign

The Glasgow Save Our Schools campaigners have questioned publicly official spokes people for the education services in Glasgow about there schools closures which have gone through the city over the past 6 months and asked them to explain why if these closures are meant to be a money saving exercise do there financies not add up and in fact end up costing the tax payer more money than is required. The Council had no answers to questions with answers such as " well I haven't been in the job that long" given to the public at meetings. There lack of concideration when parents highlighted Major concerns about health and safety and asbestos by using comments such as " don't worry hen the asbestos would blow to motherwell before it would land on any of your weans". I find fact that people like this have been allowed to make decisions on our childrens future education is in itself a joke and I will not give up on our campaign to now fight for a new build school where ours has been taken. We in Barmulloch believe we deserve better from our elected officials and I want to make sure we get it!!!. we are now taking our fight to the next step and seeking legal advice on how to progress with a judicial review to stop this devasting and unlawful event ever happening again. We are fighting to change the laws that allow a local authority to carry out such a huge decision without working with the people and using regulated facts and figures not just figures that have been on hand at some point over the past 50 years. Please show your support and help us fight to keep our children growning stronger in local schools within our communities. We need to make sure all councils are working off the same page and are not allowed to run schools into the ground for years on end and then cap numbers to claim the schools are in a bad state of disrepair and are under occupied this is a disgrace that must be stopped!!!!
